Last week I was in Colorado, where I had the privilege of documenting this lovely lady’s Bat Mitzvah. She laughs and has fun so easily and has everyone in her presence laughing and having fun right along with her. She said to me during one of our shoots, “I’m glad someone I know is our photographer so I can be myself.” That was a huge compliment! And I want everyone who steps in front of my camera to feel like they can be themselves, whether you’ve known me your whole life or 5 minutes! As I always say, when you show me your ‘so you’, that is where the magic happens!
This family is an absolute pleasure to work with, and I don’t take this privilege lightly. Not only do they have a lovely family, they have one of the closest framilies I have ever had the pleasure of working with. My mom and dad’s mom went to college together, so I’ve known this family a long time. My parents were actually guests at the mitzvah, so it was just a really fun dynamic for the weekend. Maya (mom) made me feel included, while at the same time, I got to document this special time. I could not be more grateful for this opportunity!
