A note to my So You families:

Hello lovelies! I know, 2020 is not our best year ever. But it still deserves to be documented. So much so, that in this time of work from home and social distancing, when large gatherings stopped and we all stayed inside for a while, I did not put my camera down. Not for a single day. I’ve been doing a photo a day project to capture how this unique moment in our collective history looks and feels. If you want to see what I’ve been up to, click here for the latest set, with links to the full set.

Your family deserves to be captured too! We have all grown and changed and learned and evolved this year. And this virus has shown us just how precious these lives of ours truly are. And that they can change in an instant. One day we dropped our kids off at school. The next day they were home, and most still haven’t returned to a physical school building. One day we were going to movies and eating in restaurants and blowing out birthday candles. The next day we were watching Netflix, ordering take out with a side of Lysol wipes, and celebrating milestones on Zoom. Your life is precious. This moment is fleeting. Let me freeze time for you.

A note about Covid-19 Safety:

I know we all have different levels of comfort with managing the risks of this virus, and I respect your right to choose what you feel comfortable with for yourself and your family. That being said, here are some of the ways I plan to keep us safe during our session:

  • Location Selection will be mindful of places and times to allow for minimal crowds and maximum social distancing.

  • Erica will be masked the entire session, with the exception of water and air breaks, at a distance of no less than 6 feet.

  • Based on past session experience, you know we will pick a few different fun spots for photos. Subjects are recommended to wear masks in between spots where light crowd interaction may be possible, and remove masks when we’re ready to shoot again at our next socially distanced location.

  • I will miss our hugs and high fives, but sessions will be non-contact. All direction and posing will be given verbally.

Check out some of the photos that were created safely masked and with social distancing.
